Jane Conard

Jane Conard is seeking her third term on the Sun Valley City Council.  In the past eight years she has dealt with a range of increasingly complex city issues. Jane has demonstrated she has the education, experience, skills, and problem-solving demeanor to fulfill this office. 

 

Jane grew up in Iowa and was educated in several states.  She earned a B.A. magna cum laude with honors from Macalester College, an M.A. from the University of Iowa, and a J.D. from U.C. Davis, King Hall School of Law.  Jane specialized in health law representing hospitals, physicians, and other healthcare providers and businesses.  From 2008 – 2022 she maintained a solo law practice in Utah and Idaho primarily focused on mediation and arbitration after selection for the health law panel of experts for the American Arbitration Association.  For 26 years prior to private practice she was corporate counsel in Utah and Idaho for Intermountain Healthcare, Inc., one of the country’s leading integrated healthcare systems.  She shared her expertise through lectures and courses for the American Health Law Association (AHLA) and the American Bar Association.  In Idaho she lectured for the Idaho State Bar health law section and at an annual Idaho State Bar meeting after the establishment of her private practice. She is an active member of the Idaho Bar and an inactive member of the state bars of California and Utah.

 

The ”good life” in Sun Valley was a goal Jane and her late husband, Rick Maneval, achieved.

They were married in the Sun Valley Lodge in 1985 and acquired a condo in Indian Springs in Elkhorn.  In 1998 they purchased their vacation/retirement home in Crown Ranch. Jane was chair of the Crown Ranch Homeowners Association when they became full-time residents in 2011.  If she is re-elected to the Sun Valley City Council, she pledges to continue her commitment to diligence, trust, and service in representation of the citizens of Sun Valley.
